Accessibility statement

This is a translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Polish version of this document prevails.

§ 1. Our commitment

The PRAWOUE.PL newsroom is committed to the digital accessibility of prawoue.pl and undertakes to keep the site accessible in line with the law on meeting accessibility requirements. This statement covers both the Polish and the English edition of the site.

§ 2. Conformance status

The site conforms to WCAG 2.1 at level AA, subject to the reservations listed in § 5. That is the level referenced by the harmonised standard EN 301 549, and through it by Directive (EU) 2019/882 and by the Polish Act of 26 April 2024 on ensuring that accessibility requirements are met.

The audit was carried out against the newer WCAG 2.2 AA standard, which contains WCAG 2.1 AA in full — the legal minimum is therefore covered with room to spare. Conformance was checked separately for the light and the dark theme, because the two break independently of each other.

The reservations in § 5 concern functions that have not yet been launched, not identified breaches of WCAG criteria.

§ 3. Date and assessment method

This statement was prepared on 25 August 2026 on the basis of a self-assessment carried out by the newsroom. The assessment covered every page of the site in both themes and comprised:

• analysis of the rendered document tree with the axe-core engine;
• verification of every colour pair against the 4.5:1 threshold for text and 3:1 for graphical elements;
• tests of keyboard operation, focus visibility, focus order and the absence of keyboard traps;
• tests of text resize to 200% and of layout at a 320 px viewport width;
• a virtual screen reader pass covering names, roles, landmarks and heading order;
• a readability screen using a fog index.

The statement is reviewed on every significant change to the site, and at least once a year.

§ 4. Accessibility features

• a “Skip to content” link as the first element of every page;
• full keyboard operation, a visible focus indicator, and Escape to leave the menu and the navigation drawer;
• a heading structure and landmark regions in every document;
• a breadcrumb trail on every page except the home page;
• a single-column layout at 320 px with no horizontal scrolling;
• text resizable to 200% with no loss of content or function;
• a light and a dark theme — your choice is remembered in your browser only and is never sent to a server;
• the site loads no resources from external servers, stores no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no tracking scripts — which is why it shows no consent banner;
• pagination appears only when a further page of results exists, so a link never promises a move that cannot happen.

§ 5. Non-accessible content

We state plainly what does not work today:

• Forms. The contact form, the News Tip form and newsletter sign-up do not send data — server-side handling is being implemented. Until it is live, the working channel is kontakt@prawoue.pl.
• Search. The search box does not return results based on the phrase entered. Material can be found through the section menu, the footer lists and the breadcrumb trail.
• Screen reader verification. An automated virtual screen reader pass was carried out. No test with NVDA or JAWS has yet been run; their behaviour goes beyond what a simulation reproduces.
• Testing with disabled users. Not carried out. No automated tool replaces it and we do not claim otherwise.
• Language of the legal documents. The Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy are written in specialist language. Plain language is a requirement only at level AAA, which we do not claim; on request we will explain the meaning of any provision.

§ 6. Feedback and contact details

A report should give your contact details, identify the page or element concerned, and say how you wish to be contacted. If you need the information in an alternative form — read out over the telephone, or sent in another format — please say which form in your report.

We reply without undue delay and no later than 30 days from receiving the report. Failure to reply within that period means the report is treated as upheld.

§ 7. Enforcement procedure

If you consider our reply inadequate, you may complain to the market surveillance authority competent for accessibility. Supervision of compliance with the Act of 26 April 2024 is coordinated by the President of the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON).

Consumers may also seek the assistance of a district or municipal consumer ombudsman and use the out-of-court dispute procedures described in the Terms of Use.

§ 8. Scope of this statement

This statement covers the prawoue.pl website together with its English-language edition. It does not cover content made available by third parties to which the site links.

This is a technical accessibility statement, not a legal opinion. Conformance with WCAG gives a presumption of conformity with the harmonised standard, but the final measure remains how usable the site actually is for people with disabilities.
